@oresutoOG I think when you get deeper into Getter lore, especially in the Manga, Getter is the pioneering work here. It takes three hearts that beat as one to bring out the true power of Getter. And Getter Rays evolve things.
@CitizenAmedia It is the core of his character, they change it off screen, and they justify that change poorly. He does return to a Luke who helps by the end of TLJ, which is good. But his whole arc isn't great in its foundation.
@CitizenAmedia It all ends up coming back to Lucas's prime thesis on the destructive and healing powers of Love. Vader burns the galaxy out of love for Padme. Luke saves the galaxy with love for his father. And while I don't mind TLJ Luke, I dislike him in the sequels due to him not helping.
@Aaron_Sparrow So he has counters to super strength and opponents who can fly at relatively fast speeds and are thus more agile than he is. Like he's just a terrible match up for Rogue.
@Aaron_Sparrow He's also kind of a hard counter to Rogue's most powerful ability. She can't make skin contact with him. And he has no power to absorb, so she'd just get like memories, which useful, but not that useful. Plus Doom regular fights the Thing and the Human Torch.
@CitizenAmedia that TFA asks off screen by having Luke make no attempt to save Han. Were there maybe other answers? Yeah, probably. But the answer in the TLJ is the least convoluted. So, it's fine, I guess.
@CitizenAmedia This fundamental change to Luke's character happens off screen during the climax of TFA. And TLJ has to figure out what a Luke who doesn't try to save his friends looks like. And that's the Luke we see in TLJ. Do I like this Luke? Not particularly. But it does answer the question
@DeputyARUUU They're getting better at fitting the teeth in the skull. I never beat the first Spider-Man game, but every character looked like they were wearing dentures at least one size too large.
