This young man is autistic. For over a year he walked 3–4 miles every single morning, rain or shine, from Goose Creek to his FedEx job.
A stranger who’d been watching him finally stopped, gifted him a brand new electric scooter and a charged battery, then taught him how to ride it.
His name is Lenard.
Real ones still exist.
A woman drops her truck off at Kia of Lake Charles (1900 Siebarth Drive, Lake Charles, LA 70615) for body work only.
She comes back and catches the mechanics under the hood. They had already removed her motor and were taking parts out of her new vehicle.
She asks them straight: “Did I leave my car here so you could borrow parts?”
This is the same dealership that previously got caught with an employee driving a customer’s car home as a personal vehicle.
Thanks for posting and sharing. In 37 years as a radio/TV broadcaster in a lot of different roles, but obvs the Mavs primarily, I’ve done a lot I feel good about.
But this is frankly one of my absolute favorite things I’ve ever had the privilege to do. Everything I said was from the heart but it doesn’t come to life without the incredible work of Tanner and many others at the time at FSSW. And of course I had really good material to work with talking about Dirk!
