🌟 Exciting News for Rigorous, Credible, and Impactful Research! 🌟
We conducted a "review of reviews", diving deep into 241 methodological literature reviews across 54 journals. Here's what we found:
1️⃣ Three Main Categories: Most reviews fall into narrative, descriptive, or scoping categories. This highlights an amazing opportunity for new types of reviews like umbrella, theoretical, and realist.
2️⃣ Actionable Insights: Our content analysis used a policy-capturing approach, unveiling implicit features in these reviews. The result? A practical checklist to boost your review's thoroughness, clarity, and usefulness.
3️⃣ Critical Decision-Making: We've identified key judgment areas in reviews and provide detailed examples to guide you in making those important calls.
Our work doesn't just shed light on the current state of methodological reviews but also offers valuable recommendations for three key groups: authors (producers), journal editors/reviewers (evaluators), and those keen on methodological learning, including research method instructors (users).
Stay tuned for more insights, and let's keep pushing the boundaries of rigorous, credible, and impactful research together!#ResearchInnovation #MethodologicalReviews #AcademicCommunity
