I tweet about Politics & Bravo. Co-Host East Bay Insiders Podcast (@eastbaycitizen), formerly @lorenmtaylor, @DanielLurie, @BeraForCongress. 💸💻@Synctera
I congratulate Mayor-elect @BarbaraLee_CA and echo @lorenmtaylor in hoping she will deliver on her promises.
Barbara Lee wasn’t our candidate, but she is now Oakland’s mayor-elect, and we sincerely hope she will rise to the moment. She has the chance to be a great mayor—if she builds a broad coalition that includes not just the usual players, but also the many Oaklanders tired of status quo politics that delay action and dodge accountability.
If the mayor-elect is willing to embrace overdue reforms and make hard choices—even at the risk of upsetting some of her base—she could deliver the kind of bold, unifying leadership that nearly half the electorate saw in Loren Taylor. (1/5)
Just got this poll. This is how big of a joke our party is.
No one spends money like this unless they are serious. Looks like a group is trying to figure out whether @KamalaHarris should run for CA Governor and be a write-in candidate.
In a newly upended race for California governor, with better-known candidates failing to earn support, the lesser-known @MattMahanSJ has (by far!) the most electoral upside statewide.
Mark my words: when Californians start voting, @MattMahanHQ will leapfrog this weak field.
It is irresponsible and illegal to publicly report every rumor, whisper and innuendo.
Investigative reporting requires sources to go on the record, provide corroborating evidence and pass a vetting process to meet editorial standards.
CNN released its story as soon as that process was completed.
A reporter can’t force women to go on the record when a party machine is built to protect its own.
Most of you have not left your keyboard or computer. So until you leave your house, knock on a voter’s door, or attend a local municipal meeting, you’re wasting your time talking about how you’re mad about the Democratic Party—which has been collapsing for a while now.
If you want things to change, you can start by showing up.
If you want to know how @ericswalwell and the CA Dem political machine protected a predator for so long, take a listen. You’ll need to understand how our system is designed to silence women.
Listen to the East Bay Insiders (@eastbaycitizen) breakdown.
I’ve covered Eric Swawell since he was a member of the Dublin City Council. Shortly after being elected to Congress in 2013, his behavior towards women was known by all levels of our local government and the Alameda County Democratic Party.
When it comes to corruption, mismanagement, and abuse of power, @eastbaycitizen is often the one breaking it or reporting on it more than @Oaklandside, @berkeleyside, @EastBayTimes, and the @sfchronicle.
You have the cratering of local journalism to thank for that.

To any staffer who resigned from Swalwell’s team in solidarity with the survivors or any women who are concerned about how coming forward may impact your career, we will find you work. We have a network of electeds and firms who will give you a place to land. Send me your resumes
Just gonna note that @RepSwalwell denied ever having a sexual relationship with staff or an intern when I asked him … (checks notes again) … on *Tuesday*
My wife’s name is @Ally_Sammarco. Obviously you know that, but she’s not named anonymous. And she also went on the record with CNN so that hopefully this did not happen to other women and maybe it would help other women come forward. She also provided CNN all of the messages that you sent her. I’ve been very supportive of you over the years but even I learned a lot today. And she has my full support.
