I congratulate Mayor-elect @BarbaraLee_CA and echo @lorenmtaylor in hoping she will deliver on her promises.

Barbara Lee wasn’t our candidate, but she is now Oakland’s mayor-elect, and we sincerely hope she will rise to the moment. She has the chance to be a great mayor—if she builds a broad coalition that includes not just the usual players, but also the many Oaklanders tired of status quo politics that delay action and dodge accountability.

If the mayor-elect is willing to embrace overdue reforms and make hard choices—even at the risk of upsetting some of her base—she could deliver the kind of bold, unifying leadership that nearly half the electorate saw in Loren Taylor. (1/5)

My wife’s name is @Ally_Sammarco. Obviously you know that, but she’s not named anonymous. And she also went on the record with CNN so that hopefully this did not happen to other women and maybe it would help other women come forward.
