The Tigers rolled into North Kitsap on Friday night and dominated the Vikings in the 2A WA State Playoffs “Round of 32”.
Evan Forthun intercepted the first pass of the game and 11 plays later, the Tiger scored to take a 7-0 lead on a Jake Lowell one yard run.
After that the Tigers never looked back with dominant defense, excellent special team play, and methodical offensive drives.
Senior QB Owen Stewart was precise and efficient completing 15 of 19 passes for 257 yards and a TD. His favorite targets on the night, Evan Forthun and Jake VanPelt accounted for 10 receptions for 195 yards.
Cannon Cook made two field goals from 27 and 40 yards. He was 4/5 on extra points (one blocked) and all 6 kickoffs were touchbacks.
The ground game for the Tigers was equally impressive accounting for three rushing touchdowns. One from QB Owen Stewart and two from RB Jake Lowell (17 carries for 86 yards).
The defensive created three turnovers, including the interception by Forthun, a fumble nearly returned for a TD by Lowell, and a game sealing 41 INT returned for a TD by Senior linebacker Nolan Radder to make the score 40-0 in the 4th Quarter.
The Tigers now enter the Final 16 of the 2A State Plauoffs and will await to see who they face after today’s games are complete.

Goosebumps! Men form a protective circle around 16-year-old Frances Staudt so she can safely speak about having to compete against boys. Activists try to drown out her words with sirens. But she won’t be silenced! Tumwater, WA. @letsgowa@Riley_Gaines_

Charlie Kirk, a name synonymous with having the courage to speak what you believe and seek/welcome conversations with those whom you disagree with.
I’m not a political person but I am a proud American citizen and today was startling, saddening, and maddening all at the same time.. I’ve realized that I’m a bit naive to how crazy it all has become but watching a man get hunted and slayed in broad daylight because of his opinions made me disgusted and devastated.
This can’t be what we actually are or become as a country.. I believe that the good people will always outnumber the evil people but damn… today was an alarming day in our country’s history.
2 kids lost a dad.. a wife lost a husband.. and societal discourse lost a voice.
RIP @charliekirk11.. I send my prayers, thoughts, and love to his family and friends.
Once again, a bullet has silenced the most eloquent truth teller of an era. My dear friend Charlie Kirk was our country's relentless and courageous crusader for free speech. We pray for Erika and the children. Charlie is already in paradise with the angels. We ask his prayers for our country.
Charlie Kirk has passed away at the age of 31.
A husband, a father of two, and a man of God. He completely reshaped our country and had so much ahead of him.
Gut-wrenching. Rest in peace, Charlie.

Down 7-16 with 8 mins to go in the 4th quarter, the Tigers battled back to score the go-ahead TD with 59 seconds left in the game on a 12 yd TD run by Senior running back Jake Lowell @JakeLowell7
After a few pass interference penalties, the Storm advanced to the Tigers 40 yd line with 3 secs left in the game. A Hail Mary pass attempt never made it in the air as Lowell sacked the Storm QB forcing a fumble that was recovered by Junior defensive end Bryce Fair.
The Tigers scored in the first quarter on a 20 yard pass from Senior QB Owen Stewart @OwenStewart00 to Junior wide receiver Jake VanPelt @Jake__VanPelt. That score was set up by a Nolan Radder interception. But after that Tiger TD, it was all Squalicum until the late Tiger scored in the 4th quarter.
Overcoming a slew of penalties and turnovers, B-E showed grit and heart to get some key defensive stops and convert offensively late in the game.
The two headed rushing attack of Stewart and Lowell proved too much late in the game as the Tigers could visibly be seen out powering the Storm tacklers.
B-E is now 1-0 on the season and faces juggernaut Archbishop Murphy next Saturday on Kirkby Field at B-EHS.
