@DrSdeG If she had worn red, she'd still be mocked, for being too brash. If she wore yellow, she would be criticised for it not being on trend. It's nobody's business but theirs.
@mancunianmedic Yes, there's a lot of Little House on the Prairie going recently. When did they think women of a certain age wanted to dress like the kids they used to watch on itv at 330 on a Thursday?
@bagshaw2112 David Greggs. Not to be confused with Greggs of now. A London chain who sold cold meats, eggs, sausages and so on. And whilst we're at it Kennedy's, a very south London version of similar provisions!
@bushontheradio Gosh that's a difficult and poignant post but a fabulous song as a tribute. Two spring to mind "Waterloo Sunset" as I grew up there on The Cut. Secondly and more for the smile of those who I left behind (and of course so cheesy) Thank You for Being a Friend by Andrew Gold.
@bushontheradio 159 Fitzalan Street to Oxford Circus in terms of how many years I did it but the longest route in one journey? 36 from Queens Park to Peckham π
@bushontheradio We all had the "aunty" and "uncle" version 2.0 when I was a kid in the 70s. But the dinner ladies were always Mrs So and So and the shopkeepers were Mr So and So. And woe betide you if you called your friend's mum by her first name until you were told you could
@DrSdeG I have read this as a patient, a carer and as a friend. It's spot on and I thank @dave_dlt for writing it. I am just about to send it to my friend. I am taking notice of it as an unpaid (and proud) carer and hoping I can be heard as a patient
@ParaAndy90 The doctor who delivered that kind of news to my mum was a fabulous Scottish fella. I've never forgotten him or his great compassion β€οΈ
