@CoachSHoltz My prayers, thoughts and condolences are with you & family Skip. His visits to Greenville and kind conversations always gave me something priceless: a feeling that I was worth his time.
@American_Conf Very saddened by this news, but comforted by many cherished memories - both personally and professionally. Prayers and thoughts are with his family and countless of folks who were blessed to be his friend.
@lancesmith44@GATATalkPodcast Am in a completely different tax bracket than Dan Rather, but thanks for the inclusion. Willie Fritz was a GA during my years there and should be doing the coin flip since he’s also familiar with the bowl site. SHSU’s first-ever I-AA playoff game was at Ark State in ‘86 - ouch.
True resilience 👏

“For me, it was not important. Are you doing it just for the money or doing it for the love of the game. That’s what we’re missing a lot right now, the love of the game” - @CrumplerIsaiah on NIL topic during his college recruiting process. Great convo with @Rob_Maloney and Isaiah
Some have called Ryan Gillikin D.H. Conley High School’s No. 1 fan. Others consider him to be among the most avid Pirates followers in town. The 18-year-old has spent a lifetime cheering for teams at his favorite schools. But on Friday as Ryan, dres… https://t.co/udsV74WLFt
Army coach Jeff Monken has been running the under-center triple option for 26 years. He’s scrapping it this spring due to NCAA rules restricting cut blocks.
The rules committee insists it has data showing injury risks. Option coaches aren’t buying it.

@PatrickKinas@jaysonny91 Two of the best, hands-down. Good to see both of you again, albeit from a distance today. Happy you called FCHS’s 8th state🏀title as well.
Among the many framed items on his office wall at #ECU, one in particular symbolized his leadership: “It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit” (Truman). My thoughts and prayers are with Ann & family. #FromTheDesk
Former long-time ECU AD Terry Holland has passed away. Sad news this morning.
Terry was easily one of the most influential ADs in Pirate history and played a major role in the athletics department getting the invite to The Big East/AAC.
Sorry Jeff, I can’t “paint this one purple” today, maybe ever. Please know your friendship, words of encouragement meant more to me than you ever knew.
While I treasured our time together, its greatest value was learning about the human element of leadership and having empathy for others. No “how-to” book will ever compare to those cherished nine years at ECU. Bless you for capturing his essence David.
As Tony Bennett approaches Terry Holland’s record for coaching victories at #UVa, a tribute to the Big Whistle, a humble, erudite, Southern gentleman who has summoned grace and humor in his final chapter. https://t.co/2lww7kRfKp
