@amit916J@games_inu Ya, Houdini seems like the smart thing if you wanted Skeletal Assemblies, but for Static Assemblies, being able to set things up in your chosen DCC and import fairly easily, I think that outweighs it for non-techy artists!
@games_inu@amit916J Downside with File > Import Into Level is that the FBX needs to have the correct unit scaling as opposed to the regular import method for an FBX. It seems to read the units quite differently, so if you don't set up your file in your DCC correctly, stuff gets x100 scaled 🙃
@games_inu@amit916J You can also use an FBX. Set up your assembly in Blender, using instancing on the objects, and instead of the regular import to content browser, you can use File > Import Into Level for your FBX. Then you can use the scripted action to make a quick static mesh assembly.
@semmypls@henningsanden A lot of positions at Alpha Channel. Based in Toronto, Canada, but all remote so why not try if you see something that vibes with you :)

@panecasio Man I remember that part too... I was genuinely heartbroken when I got separated from my new friend. I spent a lot of time looking for them. Just as I had given up and ventured on, it turns out they were waiting for me up ahead where it calmed down. Amazing!
@panecasio Holy moly this needs to be saved for moments when anyone questions the environmental storytelling of large text sprayed on a wall/car/bucket/shoe/lampshade/egg.
@panecasio Ooo ye! There's two things I've learned from doing environment art... everything looks better with ivy, everything looks cooler with cables. That's just hard facts.
@panecasio @_moyparra@jobyek@Papierfish does some, I'm pretty sure! Unless he just collects sprockets and doodads to keep the balance of "clutter-to-clean" ratio in equilibrium. I'd love to do some too... time to take apart some gundams! 😄🤖
@panecasio I like the mental image of you making sure that when you laugh, you're also walking from one room to another for added impact. Someone tells a joke and you just start laughing and walk away.
@Medelinx@Giraffaloops It should! The picture shows it on my non-curved monitor, which is a 24" monitor (25" when you count the full monitor and not just screen). Still plenty of leeway. Tested it also on my curved monitor, ~28" w border, and was more snug, but fit. Went more straight than curved tho
@panecasio Option A may sound cooler but I gotta go for B because I like lemonade and I'm a simple man, and I voted with my gut and my gut wanted lemonade. It is what it is.
@panecasio @MagnusL3D@AscentTheGame Yeah I saw it this morning and then spent the remaining time trying to suppress the want to open Houdini straight away!! As if just playing the damn game wasn't inspiring enough, they found a way to make it even cooler haha
