@tdesseyn Depends on the company. We hired this candidate and this was a screenshot from our Zoom interview. 😂 (face and name blacked out for obvious reasons.)

His computer died before the interview and he had to join on his kid’s iPad. One of my favorite interview memories of all time.

@elkasdev Keep it plugged in and connected, set up Remote Desktop on it. Now you don’t have to use 2 machines. :)

@donaldklee As someone who has known several and who has also hired one, I mostly agree. I don’t think they all are (some are legitimately credentialed and trying to do good work) but you’re mostly right.

I spend tons of time learning topics like critical thinking, logic/reason, skepticism, science, evolution, and physics. Most people I work or spend time with are educated, reasonable, and progressive.

So when I encounter someone who is anti-science or anti-LGBTQ it baffles me.

@gabriel__xyz If you want something free (almost) check out Mautic—the open source version. Just need to host it somewhere and you can connect it to an AWS SES instance for sending mail cheap.

There may be better options but I used it for years and quite liked it.
