This is well written and explained.
We wrote a small note on outcomes being the future (https://t.co/q4ioNfRLyr) and have been investing in that core thesis since 2022.
Nihar explains the nuances really well here. Light outcomes will be owned by the model companies that are building app layers. Its the complex and heavier process driven outcomes with in-depth specific knowledge - with ownership of those outcomes - where the opportunity lies and where core model companies are unlikely to invest anytime in the near future.
There isn't uniform acceptance of this view though. We still see the confusion about "is this services" or "aren't services companies delivering outcomes anyway" and a lot more across the spectrum.
What proves this works is when you look at portcos who "show it" to you and we have had a good share of learnings from those.
Xhipment "owns" the delivery of packages across global lanes with unparalleled realtime visibility while abstracting licenses, paperwork, regulation away from customers.
Mezink "owns" influencer marketing outcomes for global brands and delivers better ROI than old world agencies or new age software companies by doing all the complex work with the customers having to do nothing at all.
Accounti "owns" the ownership records desk for global funds and facilitates buy/sell transactions across multiple stakeholders, manages all paperwork and delivers a clear and clean outcome to the funds who don't have to lift a finger...other than signatures, of course :)
Confido "owns" the complex front office of speciality healthcare centers in the US.
RapidClaims "owns" revenue cycle management for US clinics and hospitals.
DPDZero "owns" collections for lenders - old and the new - delivering faster and better outcomes.
OWNS is the keyword here and it contains the complexity and the long term moat that large model companies are unlikely to find a fit with.
Influencer marketing is NOT for instant gratification like performance market.
It is for long term compounding from awareness to engagement to trust and then brand - with *lots of real conversions and ROI* along the way.
Most founders may get this but their teams, who are on the hook for metrics, almost never get this and is the primary reason very few get influencer marketing right.
It is a far better channel for long term compounding and direct relationship building with customers with an incredible ROI that cannot be simply copied by competitors.
...only if done right :)
@Paytm@Paytmcare@PaytmBank you guys unilaterally changed the KYC status and when I do video KYC, the person automatically closes window, marking attempt as failed. My money is unnecessarily stuck. How am I to continue to trust?
BFF (Better Founders Forum) Annual is pretty much the best day of the year for our community at Better Capital. Our founders gather from all over the country for one incredible evening and this year was no different.
I am still catching my breath after wrapping up BFF Annual 2024 on Monday night - to say it was full of energy would be an understatement: 5+ hours of non-stop convos around a light structure, discussing BFF in Numbers and how we are already on the path to outperform the best early-stage community in the world and to see the grittiest founders of India building unique companies as their lifelong missions never gets tiring for me.
Nothing can capture the real energy at BFF Annual but this afterfilm made by the good folks at Lens Media (thanks a ton, @AdityaR2209!) gives you an idea!!!!
I can never pull this off alone - Piyush and Roshan of InCommon, Aditya and Raj at Stoa along with their team, Ankur and Ishan at Reevooy who produced the Better 2024 Tee (the best!), Rohit of Clarity, Dipika of Basis, Raunak of Fix Health. Payal, my EA, and many others worked hard to make it happen. Having said that, we did pull it off with no zoom calls and no in person meetings :)
Future Founders was a fun experiment too - and I do hope the folks who could attend had a stellar evening! I met some but not all but we look forward to doing something with the Future Founders PMF soon.
Stay tuned!
ps: don't forget to turn ON the volume :)
Building & Investing in what we call Social 2.0 :)
Social 1.0: social media aggregators gathered & monetized attention keeping all/most of the monetization for themselves.
Social 2.0: social media influencers built & nurtured their own audiences & owned their monetization.
How to get @TwitterSupport to clarify on why my app with 500000 users violates the policy.
@elonmusk any help? We were planning to use Twitter ads as trial.
Our app official account already has 17000 followers on IG and were looking to grow on Twitter
@TwitterCreators
@malikgarv No upper cap on the total successful candidates. + The candidates are not as homogeneous in terms of skills and knowledge. Expect it to be more like tech (as an industry). Plenty of opportunities, different niches.

We at @mezinkapp handle 100K+ microsites that cater to 10 million monthly traffic. For a startup like ours, it was very important to create something like Component Library to scale the front end.
