The @DOHgovph has a great surveillance and monitoring system for any Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI). Let me explain how it works:

All admitted/ER/OPD patients in any hospital or health centers are required to fill up an AEFI form. This is submitted to the municipal/city level to provincial to regional and national. Through this with or without claim, the health offices can evaluate if this has anything to do with the vaccine.

DOH requires 1 year monitoring of all vaccinated individuals (counting from the last jab).

Reporting system is also in place in the vaccination site, 1-3 days post vaccination so on and so forth.

Municipal/City and Provincial Health Offices are required to report through a system in partnership with the FDA.

Imagine, 8-page form for all vaccinated admitted patients with or without vaccine/injury claim.

The DOH hired experts from all fields including cardio, pulmo, pedia etc. to review cases of admitted patients vaccinated with Covid-19 cases in a weekly basis.

Provincial AEFI officers present the cases complete information, tests and procedure done. Sometimes, the experts would ask for more tests/ information. Aiding on the side of safety.

Specialists and provincial representatives are often convened in an emergency review for cases released by the media. This is to see the cases are really vaccine-related and to avoid vaccine hesitancy.

Personally, I handled a case of a pedia patient who experience loss of sensation in lower extremities 3 days post vaccination. The patient underwent series of tests and was admitted for 3 weeks. The conclusion proves that the pedia patient was in-born and not related nor aggravated by the vaccine.

The DOH shouldered all tests, medicine and other expenses of the patient. Because of the investigation, her illness is diagnosed and properly being managed.

Please take note that the Health Officers are trained to offer free autopsy in cases of vaccinated individual with unexplained death. The idea is to investigate all cases to avoid false claims and increase vaccine hesitancy.
