Excited to share a list of posters & talks led by members of our lab & collaborators at #2024SFS - we're looking forward to reconnecting with & meeting new science friends in Philadelphia next week. Safe travels & see you soon!
Hey #rstats folks. Since the raster package and it’s getData function are no longer maintained by CRAN, how are people working with, say, WorldClim data in R now?
I'm still recruiting graduate students to start in August 2024.
I'm going to be scheduling interviews soon.
Students will have wide latitude to pursue research on systematics, conservation genetics, phylogenetics, and/or taxonomy on freshwater mollusks or fishes.
I can't easily put into words just how proud I am of my team at the Center for Conservation & Research, San Antonio Zoo. We frequently work with subterranean fauna... and another "first-ever" - one of our Oklahoma Cave Crayfish has successfully hatched 50 babies!
Please share: I am recruiting a master’s student to sample mussels in tributary systems of the south-central plains ecoregion in Arkansas. Position starts in January (2024)
An absolute legend! I spent 18 months down the hallway from Ets. He was so passionate about fish and caddisflies. And so kind and generous to me as an aspiring fish ecologist. My heart goes out to family and friends.

Looks like an awesome symposium! I’ve been dabbling in urban streams in San Antonio, but unfortunately won’t be in GR this year. @AlliVeach and @Jen_A_Smith1 are doing cool urban eco work here too.
Please retweet: The Aquatic Diversity Lab at Mizzou is hiring summer technicians to work on crayfish and mussel projects. Join us for great fieldwork opportunities! @FMCS_mollusk@CrayfishIAA#crayfish#mussels
The undetectability of global trends on local species richness: our paper out today in @EcographyJourna.
I think this settles the so called biodiversity change paradox.
Please RT: PhD opportunity w/ my group studying big-river fishes in tributaries of one of Earth's largest rivers — the Mississippi. Along the way, become an expert in invasion & movement ecology. Applicant review starts ASAP, position starts fall23 or spring 24. #Fishissippi 🐟🚤
