Talked to the @NHSSCA_IN board about this as well as some GREAT ONES across the Midwest. PSA FOR HIGH SCHOOL STRENGTH COACHES, stick to the goals. If you have PE/HEALTH or another option of training for elective and your class is for athletes. Then when every student wants to take an AP BIO class but doesn’t meet the requirements that’s ok??? But in our world that doesn’t seem to resonate. Keep the plan the plan. Safety is priority #1. Weight rooms are not dumping grounds to punch a number on a computer. It’s potentially the most dangerous room in the building. Trust me, I wanted some AP classes on my transcripts but I just didn’t fit the mold. Have a plan, stick to the plan, make the best choices.
