@vintage_fem I voted liberal when I was younger (up until 25 or so). I do believe the system works, except with how corrupt both sides have become, there's really no checks and balances anymore. They used to keep each other somewhat in line, but these days, it's all about party. not people.

How we vote is far more irrelevant than bringing back a sense of civility. (fyi... my wife is a democrat. We agree on 99% of issues, where we differ is how to get there)

@Ryon_Downs @mfeldman9 Agreed. The thing is progressives views are virtually polar opposite from traditional liberal views. Due process has been replaced with social justice. Freedom of speech with compelled or sanctioned speech. This is evidenced everywhere. I'm an agnostic. Pro gay rights. (cont)

@Ryon_Downs The funny thing is a number of conservatives (like myself) have pretty liberal social views. We just want smaller government with less infringement on our freedoms. If there's EVER evidence why the feds shouldn't have complete control on things like our healthcare, this is it.

@vintage_fem is being missed. A number of younger conservatives have extremely liberal social views. (i'm older, but carry these views). I simply vote the way I do for smaller government with less control. We had a good time. Conversations like this will bring back civility & understanding.
