Seven years. Record education spending. Bigger bureaucracy. Worse results.

In 2019, Governor @gretchenwhitmer promised to fix Michigan’s literacy crisis. Instead, our kids are falling even further behind.

Here are the facts:

📚 75% of Michigan fourth graders are not reading at grade level.
📚 76% of eighth graders are not reading at grade level.
📚 Michigan now ranks 42nd in the nation for education, with fourth-grade reading proficiency among the worst in the country.

What was the response?

❌ Democrats repealed key literacy accountability policies.
❌ They weakened teacher standards.
❌ They eliminated the A–F school grading system.
❌ Governor Whitmer vetoed $155 million in reading scholarships that would have helped struggling students get the support they needed.

The answer was never to throw more taxpayer money at the problem.

Michigan has spent billions more on education, yet student outcomes continue to decline. The money didn’t make it into the classroom—it fueled more bureaucracy while administrators grew the system and our children fell further behind.

Now, while Michigan families are watching their kids struggle to read, Governor Whitmer is traveling the country promoting a children’s book.

And here’s what every voter needs to understand:

Jocelyn Benson has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Gretchen Whitmer throughout this administration. She has defended Whitmer’s agenda at every turn. If you think electing Benson as governor will somehow change the trajectory of our schools, think again.

A vote for @JocelynBenson is a vote for more of the same.

More bureaucracy.
More excuses.
More declining test scores.
More children left behind.

Nobody is coming to save Michigan’s schools if we continue rewarding the same failed leadership with promotions. Our kids only get one education. They deserve leaders who will restore accountability, empower parents, and focus on results—not politics.

Michigan can do better. But first, we have to stop electing the people who helped create the crisis.
