It’s difficult to articulate what’s happening in the world today. School shootings every week, political assassinations and attempts, and the most divisive rhetoric we’ve seen since the civil rights era. It’s hard not to get emotional and want to point fingers at the other side and even have hate/vitriol for those people. However, this is what they want. They want us divided so we don’t stand up together.
You have to be able to listen to another persons opinion, no matter how egregious you think it is and try to understand them. Maybe they don’t understand you! I try my best to ride the middle and have my own open minded opinions, some conservative and some progressive that could change over time. We need more of the world like this. Look in the mirror and stop being so close minded, some commenting or tweeting hate at the other side, literally be a better person.
I think this world needs more God, spirituality, whatever you believe in to bring values back to the world and get us out of this hellhole of a society we seem to be living in. It’s the only way. At the same time, don’t forget the good around us that’s not often reported, the friendly conversations that happen everyday. There is more good than bad and only we as individuals can be apart of it. Spread the love, open your mind, open your heart as cliche as that sounds. I hope one day we’ll look back at this as a time we came together and weren’t driven further apart to something we can never come back from.
