I don't think I ever formally said so but I made an account over here recently https://t.co/PJdi6cTczF
Please follow because I would really prefer to fully move over there
@neinmuse I hate to say it because I'm very pro-media-preservation, but torrenting is overrated nowadays. I could dedicate 50 GB of hard drive space to a high-quality download of a series, or I could just get a decent ad blocker and watch it in 1080p on numerous sites right away.
Whenever I browse upcoming English manga releases, I'm always staggered by the amount of isekai. Is it really that big outside Japan? Because every manga/anime enthusiast I talk to is kinda sick of how much it's saturating the market.
@raymond__s It may very well be! If it's a former colleague, they inherited his background art methods perfectly (or originally created them) not to mention his overt cynicism in storytelling and minor character art. It's uncanny
Just started Thunder 3. I heard people are speculating it's the creator of Gantz working under a pseudonym, and if it's not him, it's someone amazingly skilled at imitating his style. The photographed backgrounds, idiotic bystander characters, awkward 3D renders... it's all here

EXACTLY WHY you should read shoujo manga or other things outside your comfort zone. You gain a better understanding of people different from yourself.
But then theoretically you find some common ground instead of condemning "feminine logic"
@debaoki I regularly look at manga publishers' upcoming release calendars, and whenever a series is listed as "digital only" it has me thinking "Okay, this one was not important enough to print, so I might as well ignore it."
@debaoki I think a physical print release adds "legitimacy" to a product. Just like it's VERY easy for anyone to self-publish an ebook through Amazon, having the book physically represented in a store makes it look more legitimate.
@bigblackjacobin You hear about past generations using harmful things like asbestos and lead paint, and think people were so foolish and ignorant back then...
But it's always made me assume there are modern-day products that are equally harmful, and just haven't been exposed yet.
