@TheTrotsComAu How can you possibly call this a brilliant card? 7 of 9 races have odds on favourites, 5 of them under 1.50, only 2 races have enough horses for 3 place divs, many horses with limited form. 8 of 9 races are heats. 🤮🤮🤮
Need I say more, it has all the features that punters hate
@jezzaseal@aus_sportpunter@CraigNottTrots That's the root cause of all this, taxes mean it isn't worth putting the effort in most of the time for either bookmakers or punters.
@MackayIM As well as the seasonal pattern being wrong for flu the weekly numbers don't look right for the 3000 stated, 26 weeks by average of around 200 per week is much more than 3000.
@MackayIM The thing is you don't need to understand anything about the science behind PCR to be confident they worked very well for Covid in Australia - hundreds of thousands of negative tests in a row apart from clusters of positives from close contacts of others who tested positive.
@nwh91088 No bookmaker has the ability to set accurate enough early markets without getting smashed by the early smarties even with high % on their side.
So of course they all prefer to wait for someone else to get hit first.
Thank God Joe clarified this. I mean fawning over Trump in a 3.5hr interview and repeating every single right wing conspiracy for the past 8 years simply had left many unsure. I mean isn’t he just a non ideological centrist who likes to ask questions? 😉
Bad Stats is absolutely on the money with this. Lots of examples from long before covid that Bret was a conspiratorial narcissist. One bonus example: Bret created a university course on the necessary skills to survive in nature after an apocalypse- basically a prepper course.
@carlton_hero@mleppard11 Any rivalry happening now?
"Such state government rivalry over gambling revenues has long been a noteworthy aspect of Australian states’ gambling taxation (Rubner 1966)."
@carlton_hero@mleppard11 "...governments have been pressured to reduce their tax rates as gambling competition has intensified and profitability declined (McMillen 1996b)."
