@_mrseras@The_Landlord What do you mean “which one am I wrong about”. The LL can challenge the decision making via the UT. If you mean “how”, the patently it would be on the failure to evaluate the evidence appropriately.
@_mrseras@The_Landlord What do you mean “there is nothing to challenge”. Thats wrong. The LL of course has every right should they so wish to go the UT and challenge
@The_Landlord@_mrseras In the RRA world, yes, the LL proposing the increase invites the dispute. Had they done nothing, it would not have gone to the first tier. Looks like an easy challenge to the UT, but what small scale LL is going to absorb the cost and risk of that?
@RobNoLastName Tax, Energy and Benefits. Benefits, Energy and Tax.
If only there was something more fundamental than bus fares and airport parking that government could focus on. Guess everything else is fixed!
@bestagentboss Given that Tesco clubcard identifies woman who are pregnant before even they know - with remarkable accuracy - it will be interesting to see how well AI *does* develop as a tool in the toolkit for more accurately predicting what a home will transact for. And how long.
@RadiumChaser@kickingmustang Even then you have to manage risk. Robertson’s Jam Golly Badges went from valuable to being a liability in the space of a year!
We have had a lot of questions about why the plants on #OxfordStreet have been allowed to die.
Taking care of them, mostly ensuring they are watered, was the job of @CityWestminster until a year ago.
It was handed over to the Mayor's teams in line with other responsibilities.
But they didn't have a contract with anyone to take care of the plants and didn't do it themselves, so they have all been allowed to die.
In the grand scheme of things, it's a small issue. But it's a very visible example of how not being ready can lead to things going wrong.
Managing a space like #OxfordStreet requires hundreds of things to be provided for - from plant watering to street cleaning.
If we are going to pedestrianise it, let's take the time to get it right. At the moment it's just being rushed. Am all for deadlines to get things to happen but false ones can lead to unnecessary problems and things going wrong.
Like dead plants.

Breaking: Chiltern Railways will be hit by strikes in October as the RMT trade union steps up its campaign to stop the new East West Rail line from opening.
74 guards voted yes to walkouts, versus four who voted no.
Story coming @Telegraph
@SevenSixTwoNATO@OpenChiswickW4@CityPolice It’s a mystery why bells park in the location pictured
Absolute mystery isn’t it
“Specific area” doesn’t mean dump on the pavement like a prick
@SevenSixTwoNATO@OpenChiswickW4@CityPolice And you defend parking on the pavement in London; on double yellows; and in a zone where no loading is permitted (back to square one). That confirms you to be the bell
@neso_energy@ENGIEgroup The visits into Elidir Fawr used to be fantastic
A real, real shame that both the visitor centre was shut down, and public and education visits and tours were stopped
@young1economist@LovellPropguru Yes, I’ve heard every arguement from intelligent fools suggesting LVT in England. None of them, surprisingly, have ever had any interaction with VOA, DVS or any implementation of a tax on property assets
Nor do they usually consider the impact on the UT and dragging it to a halt
@young1economist@LovellPropguru Yes, they are
Put that aside
Now, if you, and they, proclaim to be able to —accurately— be able to separate land value from the market value, I’m all ears. RICS would love the input
