We used forks to paint the hay in baby Jesus’s manger at Christmas time! What a fun and silly way to get the students engaged in art and show them that you can paint with anything! 🎨👩‍🎨🧑‍🎨@EY_uwindsor

International Women's Day was March 8th. A book I like to read around that time is Malala's Magic Pencil by Malala Yousafzai! It tells Malala's story of how she wanted to make her city a better place and work hard to make her dreams come true. @PJLanguageArts

Pop for Blends Game is a fun game where students compete against each other to collect the most popcorn! This helps students with their word blending and can even help expand their vocabulary. @PJLanguageArts

Toss Across is a fantastic way for those kinesthetic learners to practice phonemes and blending. This game can be considered an accommodation for those students. They might feel like it is a game but they will be learning tons! @PJLanguageArts

Malaika's Winter Carnival by Nadia L. Hohn is a great resource for primary grades to start learning about Black History. It allows students to follow along Malaika's journey from her home in the Caribbean to Quebec and the journey of family throughout. @PJLanguageArts

I Am Not a Number by Jenny Dupuis and Kathy Kacer, brings to light the what is was like for 8 year old Irene in a residential school. It teaches students about social justice, human rights, equality and Indigenous history. Perfect read for junior level students! @PJLanguageArts

I experienced PALS when I was in school, and it was super cool to see how excited the students were to participate during placement. PALS helps with reading fluency, accuracy, comprehension as well as oral communication! They loved reading with the older students!@PJLanguageArts
