We bring together diverse interests to care for and recover rivers and streams, so our children can experience the joy of wild and native trout and salmon.
It's almost time.
There’s just something about salmonfly season—
the anticipation, the giant bugs crawling everywhere, and the chance that the next eat could be absolute chaos.

A message from Trout Unlimited's President and CEO Chris Wood on the urgent state of public lands.
Tell your senators to stand for public lands: https://t.co/8toot8I3Ux
Today, @RepTeresaLF and I met with Pecos community leaders to discuss our Pecos Watershed Protection Act. Pecos deserves clean water free from harmful mining pollution and we’ll continue to push for permanent protections to protect the Pecos River.
We look forward to working with newly appointed Secretary of the Interior, Doug Burgum, and the partner agencies he will oversee to continue protecting, restoring, and reconnecting critical watersheds nationwide.

Trout Unlimited applauds @RepRyanZinke (R-MT) for drawing a red line on the sale of public lands. “It’s a no now. It will be a no later. It will be a no forever,” Mr. Zinke told the Washington Times.
America’s public lands are your lands. These incredible places are the sources of our coldest, cleanest water and offer the best opportunities for fishing, hunting, and connection to the outdoors. It’s imperative that we hold onto these wild places that belong to all of us.
Thank you to U.S. Sens. @SenatorHeinrich (D-NM) & @SenatorRisch (R-ID) & U.S. Reps. @RepMaloyUtah (R-UT), Mary Peltola (D-AK) & @RepSusieLee (D-NV), among many others, who championed this legislation. Thank you to each & every one of you who advocated to help make this possible.
Today, my legislation to help Good Samaritans clean up long-abandoned hardrock mines faces its final hurdle before it goes to @POTUS' desk.
I urge all of my colleagues in the House of Representatives to vote YES on this bipartisan, commonsense bill.
Conserving the ranch through the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) presents a huge opportunity for the @usfws to expand the Rio Mora Conservation Area and protect this property at the base of Hermit’s Peak in perpetuity.
In late November, TU joined staff from @SenatorHeinrich and @tpl_org for a tour of the amazing restoration work that Hermit’s Peak Watershed Alliance is doing on the Sapello River at the Pritzlaff Ranch.
Pritzlaff Ranch, located just north of Las Vegas, New Mexico, is home to 2 miles of the Sapello River & supports elk, mule deer, black bears & brown trout. Investing in stream restoration is essential to recover trout populations impacted by the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon wildfire
Thank you, @GovTinaKotek, for leading the charge to restore wild salmon and for taking a comprehensive approach to Columbia Basin recovery. We must hold decision-makers accountable for keeping their promises to future generations. #SaveOurSalmon

Led by @SenatorHeinrich (D-NM) and @SenatorRisch (R-ID), and Representatives @CelesteMaloyUT (R-UT) and @MaryPeltola (D-AK), 'Good Samaritan' legislation could make a lasting impact in mitigating pollution from acidic mine drainage, which plagues thousands of miles of streams.
🚨 Big news! 🚨 The Senate passed Good Samaritan legislation with unanimous consent, addressing one of the most pervasive sources of water pollution in the U.S.
