Crashing calculators and CAD editors? GUIFuzz++ is finally here to help make them better! ๐ฅ
Come see my undergraduate student @trowlett0's very first paper "GUIFuzz++" at #ASE25 this Wednesday.
Also now integrated in AFL++! ๐

@Keleesssss Detecting application freezes adds variability, but I think it's possible! AFL++ already detects hangs/timeouts, another option would be monitoring the frequency of toolkit (Qt,GTK) paint/input events. We don't have plans to implement this currently, but I like the idea!
Fuzzing GUIs shouldnโt be harder than fuzzing files.
That's why I am excited to share my first paper (w/ fellow undergrad Dillon Otto + @snagycs) "GUIFuzz++: Unleashing Grey-box Fuzzing on Desktop Graphical User Interfacing Applications" at #ASE25.
@Keleesssss GUIFuzz++ focuses on GUI interactions, so we only fuzz the GUI itself. We donโt rely solely on the accessibility interface: for C1 and C3 we poll AT-SPI for interactable elements, while for C2 and C4 we use completely random interactions. PyAutoGUI performs the actions.
