We're in pieces at Trowbridge Museum, well our Dobcross Loom is. Amazing machine designed in the 19th Century and hardly altered for use in the 21st century. Will form part of new displays in the upper floor of our expanded Museum. Onwards and Upwards.

#OTD in 1888, Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman was born. The pioneering physicist was most known for his work on light scattering. Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics - the first Asian and first non-white person to receive any Nobel Prize in the sciences.
