@MikeTriplett It’s becoming impossible to sack these quarterbacks who can hold the ball to the last second and still benefit from these calls. That’s a form tackle
@RGIII@OuttaPocketRG3 How do you make a form tackle without wrapping a guy up and taking him to the ground? Sick of these soft rules for quarterbacks who like to hold the ball to the last second and slide late
@RSherman_25 Quarterbacks can hold the ball to the last second , slide late, and go out bounds at the last second. Almost impossible to hit them at this point
Sorry but if a qb is gonna run full speed at a defender and wait till the last second possible to slide… I’m not calling a defender dirty for laying him out. I see guys like Dak slide early to avoid this exact scenario.
@RGIII I’ve seen all the former quarterbacks talking about dirty hit… quarterback needs to get down earlier instead of sliding late. He put himself in that position to get his bell rung…
Unfortunately for Dante Moore, THIS WAS NOT A DIRTY HIT
The QB is still presenting himself as a runner while the defender is closing
Moore initiates the slide late, at a point where the defender has already committed to making the tackle
The issue is that we’ve grown accustomed to modern football and its rule structure protecting offensive players to a detriment…. This has normalized bad decision making and processing the QB position, specifically
You can argue whether it deserves a flag….But violent ≠ dirty
(The sideline antics by #8 are a separate issue, thoughts and prayers are with Moore 🙏🏿)
I will die on the hill of putting this on the QB. QB can slide whenever he wants and keep himself out of danger. The closer the QB gets to a defender the more that defender is committing to make a hit. Defender doesn’t know if QB is tryna run him over, make him miss, or slide.
