God fulfilled a promise to the Israelites, led them out of 400+ years of slavery, killed their enemies by a miracle that He used to save them, and they still cried and whined wanting to return! Don’t think you’re just going to overcome an issue because you want to! Follow Jesus!
Let’s become men of faith and carry our brothers of faith to the feet of Jesus. You don’t have to have your stuff together… you just have to know where Jesus is… and get to Him!
If I had to guess… the 4 carrying our guys mat here today were probably not the creme of the crop either… but they had faith enough that Jesus forgave him of his sins.
My friend that recently passed, he choose to carry my mat 35 years ago… before we even knew what mat carriers were. And because of his faith, I sit here today with Jesus. It wasn’t easy for him to carry me, but his faith did something to me!
I’m not sure how I feel about that considering Jesus likely picked 12 that you and I probably wouldn’t pick if left up to us. And we are still talking about those bunch of knuckleheads today!
A little presumptuous? Maybe. Check out John 15:18-27 and get back to me.
Jim Rohn is credited with making the statement, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
And realize… there’s a possibility that those you don’t pick are going to become haters. Not because of you… and not because of the ones you choose… but because of what God does in your life because of the men you have chosen to surround yourself with.
Who you allow to carry your mat matters.
Re-read vs 5 again… when Jesus saw who’s faith? It wasn’t the guy on the mat… it was his mat carriers faith.
Now look… we’re all a little jacked up and as I say around our house, ain’t nobody walking on water around here.
“And when Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts, “Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?””
Mark 2:5-7 ESV
All humanity desires immediate gratification.
All humanity avoids immediate repercussions.
Immediate gratification that leads to belated repercussions for humanity is what evil desires.
Your bad habits are caught by your children. If you closely examine your children’s bad habits and behaviors, there is a good chance they acquired it from you… change your disciplines and allow the grace for them to outgrow you.

Some “Christians” focus so much on being “right” that they forget they are to be the light! The prince of the world is distracting and deceiving those that should be submitting to the Spirit of God instead of the spirit of the world! (1/2)
