Throughout last summer, the Wolverines continually rated higher in Bracketology than the eye test might have suggested. It turns out that Lendeborg elevated the entire roster, becoming a linchpin for the eventual national champions. This summer, the award for "unspoken bracket riser" goes to the Texas Longhorns. Heading into his second season in Austin, Sean Miller had already built a powerful roster around the likes of transfers David Punch (TCU), Isaiah Johnson (Colorado) and Elyjah Freeman (Auburn), along with top-50 freshmen Austin Goosby and Bo Ogden. Then came the topper: the reclassification of 2027's No. 1 freshman, Marcus Spears Jr., into the current incoming class. While it's a bit unfair to burden a true freshman with the same expectations attached to a veteran such as Lendeborg, Texas has added a genuine missing player to a Final Four roster. Miller and the Longhorns are now way ahead of schedule.
