@RobinDutta86@Sammy_Roth@jeffsaintjohn It’s a public proceeding, so welcome you to weigh on what DER solutions you’d like to see studied! https://t.co/jIiHewlaMj
@RobinDutta86@Sammy_Roth@jeffsaintjohn Hey @RobinDutta86 👋🏻one of the study contributors here. Appreciate the feedback. We were deliberately asked to estimate costs based on traditional utility distribution upgrades as a baseline. Kevala’s will be working on a Part 2 with the CPUC to study exactly what you mention.
.@kevalaanalytics is one of a growing number of companies building software that taps the latest advances in cloud computing and data science to bring #utilities up to speed on managing a grid awash in distributed energy assets https://t.co/1i5Mlbqk7o
CA’s got big dreams to electrify transport. How much grid spending will it take to enable all that EV charging?💸
@kevalaanalytics studied this for @californiapuc using 100TB of data & modeling load & DER adoption for 12MM+ premises out to 2035.
Here's what the report found 🧵
You – yes, YOU – can help shape what mitigations Kevala investigates in its Part 2 report by filing comments in the CPUC High DER Proceeding (R.21-06-017) or joining the upcoming public workshop on May 17:

@alex_hallowell We were fine w/ our 100A panel for new induction range, no 200A upgrade needed. Biggest current draw is from the oven, so you are unlikely to hit the full 40A unless you are really cooking. But did need to run a 240V/40A line to the kitchen. Worth assessing if 200A really needed!
