@SawyerMerritt it's worse than Apple maps :-) The other things is that it should learn over time. It gets in the same right turn only lane each day on my commute and I have to hit the turn single to put it in the straight lane.
@FredLambert@elonmusk@aelluswamy That's not what they said. Did you actually listen? The concern is that they don't annoy people by ensuring pick up and drop off locations are good and things like waiting for a Waymo that crashed causing a back up. They don't want to cause Waymo traffic jams, so they are testing
@GerberKawasaki I was just in San Fran, rode Waymo and RoboTaxi. The Waymo got stuck between a Trolley and parked car. There was space to pass. Waymo stuttered for minutes. Family asked if we should hit stop and get out. The 2 RT trips were flawless except one time, not turning right on red.
@ChadMoran@LokkenJorn@AGCF42@FredLambert What's a reasonable speed to take that exit? 15-20MPH so the person had about 3.5 seconds to slow down 40 MPH. That seems entirely normal, hence the car wasn't traveling too fast at the point FSD was disengaged.
@ChadMoran@LokkenJorn@AGCF42@FredLambert what is "too fast?" It was a speed that seems reasonable to me at the point where she took over control. You don't need to be going 15mph 300 yards from the actual turn.
@MissJilianne How fast must you be going to slam the brakes for 4 seconds and still not come to a complete stop?
Your comment doesn’t make logical sense.
@internetguy420@FredLambert If it the disengagement wasn’t driver induced, it wasn’t on for 4 seconds before the crash… what was the driver doing for this time?
@ChadMoran@LokkenJorn@AGCF42@FredLambert Why would a feature that wasn’t turned on slow the car down. It was off for 4 seconds before the crash which is about where the speed sign is. Driver error.
@iamelijahfloyd@FredLambert “It’s level 5.” What is? The human was driving. Either the human should have engaged FSD and it would have slowed down or they should have done so themselves.
@Derey_K Not sure the total number of mics in the car, but it would also be nice if it could tell which person (i.e. seat in the car) is speaking based on location of the voice, so it knows if it's the driver or a kid in the back seat.
@Derey_K one last thought I had, it was annoying that when you are using Grok, you can't have music playing... since the car knows what's playing on it's speakers, it should still be able to listen for things that are not the music (by cancelling out the sound of the music.)
