Was booking tickets for Edinburgh Zoo this weekend.
Noticed people on Universal Credit get a discounted rate.
Adult ticket: £30.
Adult ticket (UC): £8.
A 73% difference.
No shade to people on UC.
But why are we being punished for having a job?
@fawnsinforests these ppl have no idea what its like to live our lives and they will CONTINUE to talk as if we're the devil for receiving help. they r obsessed with shitting on the disabled that they don't realize one day it could be them, or their loved ones. they wouldn't speak this way then!!
@fawnsinforests of course! <3 i had my mother write a statement at the bottom of my form about how other people view me during my worst moments, and that helped too. keeping a diary is a super super useful idea, and although we can't always stick to it, it can help to record when we can <33
@fawnsinforests should also note i have bpd, anxiety, autism and i experience psychotic episodes, all noted by a psychiatrist and supported by them thru my claim. that helped alot i think!
@fawnsinforests please ignore these ppl - i'm really sorry u got denied. please keep trying and if u can, try citizens advice. u are valid and u deserve help. evidence is key, i gave all i could and somehow was lucky enough to get it. i hope the same for u. don't give up, this system sucks.
@PolitlcsUK there is no way on earth anyone is receiving the high rate of pip for anxiety unless it's crippling. i have bpd and psychosis episodes. i had to give SO much evidence of these to be eligible. stop targeting people who genuinely need help, disabled ppl arent demons.
