@darwintojesus Martyrdom over one’s beliefs isn’t unique to Christianity, or proof that it’s true over other religions
In the 2nd century BCE, devout Jews were willing to die rather than abandon their beliefs as just one example
Here’s an analysis:

@darwintojesus The answer is that your entire premise is built on the God you believe to be supremely perfect, all-good and just actually existing
When there’s no objective evidence that this is true
Just an POV based on believing in a book you claim to be inerrant, that’s clearly not
@CreationMuseum How can it be “inerrant” when there are different versions that add or drop verses, paragraphs, and even entire books of scripture, depending on the subjective views of human beings?
How does an “inerrant“ book get updated to correct errors in older versions?
@The_Pilgrim67@ApoloJedi_ it was 21 in many places until significant objections arose around people serving in the military, who couldn’t vote
So an amendment was passed to set the age of federal elections at 18 to match the age of enlistment
It went through the full ratification process to get there
@TRSolomon3 This may shock you too, but I would be all for legislation that restricts self-identifying atheists from voting, serving on juries, and holding public office as they have no logical/consistent standard for enacting justice
@The_Pilgrim67@ApoloJedi_ The citizens of each state decide that or state elections, and Congress decides it for federal purposes
Instead of having different agents for state and federal office on the same ballot, it was simpler to pick one age
1/x
@The_Pilgrim67@ApoloJedi_ Why is voting based on age?
Because it’s considered to be an adult responsibility
Society defines a legal age where people can be held liable as adults for their actions, whether in business matters like contracts or criminal liability
It’s an objective standard applied to all
@The_Pilgrim67@ApoloJedi_ What do I mean by “minority”?
Men are 49.2% of the US population
Christian men are only 29%
Christian men who believe women should be denied the right to vote are only a small slice of that 29%
5/x
@ApoloJedi_ Might as well go all the way and declare that non-Christians should be banned from voting because denial of Jesus is illogical to you as well
Fortunately, we’re not a theocracy like Iran
@ApoloJedi_ The 1st amendment guarantees the right to practice the religion (or no religion) of your choice
The 14th amendment guarantees equal treatment under the law
Prohibiting an essential civil function like voting based on religion would violate both
@ApoloJedi_ It’s the idea that an all-powerful being would set up dominoes to fall to a designed pattern, and punish some of the dominoes for following the plan
With the dominoes being his children
@ApoloJedi_ Christianity 101 has God allowing a sinner to enter a sin-free paradise to tempt humans, instead of letting them make their own decisions free of influence
And all of the souls being tormented for eternity, who are God’s children too, were sent to that fate by design
