Now here’s where the argument gets ridiculous:

UConn had already won 11 national championships before Paige ever arrived. She joined arguably the greatest dynasty in women’s college basketball history—and eventually won No. 12. (Wikipedia)

Olivia Miles played at Notre Dame, another historically elite program, then transferred to TCU. TCU reached the Elite Eight in 2026 before losing to South Carolina. (Reuters)

Meanwhile, Caitlin went to Iowa. Iowa had never won a women’s national championship. And Clark took that program to back-to-back national championship games. (SI)

So please explain to me why the girl who produced 28.4/7.1/8.2 for her career is constantly told her legacy is somehow diminished because she didn’t win the title?

A championship is a TEAM accomplishment. Individual greatness is measured by individual production, awards and impact.

And when you look at the numbers, Caitlin didn’t just keep up with these players—she separated herself.

Now she’s doing it in the WNBA too.

At some point, fans are allowed to be tired of the constant “anyone but Caitlin” comparisons.

Stop moving the goalposts. The numbers aren’t moving with them.
