@Brewers_Kitchen Stax is a valid strategy, winconless stax for the sake of making games a slog without clear aim for the deck its built around is what's awful in every sense
@BDEgameowners Rather than removing it and helping the other two players what became more viable is to drop your own Rhystic/Remora/Esper to leech out of the other players as well, and at that point you will never see people saying 'just pay the two', it becomes 'just draw the out lmao'
@OfficalRavioli I've seen a lot 60-card players whine about Commander more than trying to promote their own formats, and while I enjoy playing Pauper/Modern/Legacy I feel like that attitude keeps people away from testing other formats :p
@Spock0@SaffronOlive People prefer to copy/steal/play value engines rather than getting rid of them, making so trying to interact with them is just spending resources while the other 2 players are leeching out of your interaction as you put yourself in a worse position sometimes unknowingly
@SaffronOlive Do people who play High Power/cEDH and say 'just pay the one' pay for every single rhystic that drops to the point of paying over 2 mana per spell or do they waste their removal on these engines while helping the other 2 players who didn't spend any resources getting rid of that
@POROW1_@libbysalt It's a 4 player game, the moment a 2nd rhystic (or a clone) hits the field you won't stand a chance if you pay for each or waste your removal/counters while the other players leech out of your interaction
@ContainedAni@nestapendragon Certain cards shouldn't fall under the strict definition of being MLD such as Natural Balance or Planetary Annihilation tbh
With that being said, cards like Armageddon or Cataclysm mostly benefit land deck players as they're the ones with the most ways to recur them :p
@nestapendragon Going down one land/mana just to mess with one player in a multi-player game is a really suboptimal play, land destruction in general is a pretty bad strategy that doesn't even stop land ramp decks since they're the ones that can recover faster lol
@Ryunocore@SaffronOlive It's pretty bad in most decks the way they're built tbh, its either a finisher or just a way to drag the game for too long without a clear aim
