Transformation through crypto | DBGC | Polkadot long term | Learning Web3 in public | No hype. No financial advice. Just discipline, charts, and rebuilding.
🚧 I'm so proud. 🚧
Not because I wrote a chapter about crypto...
Because I can finally see the book becoming what I always hoped it would be.
Dope Boy Gone Crypto isn't really a crypto book. Crypto is simply the vehicle.
It's a story about rebuilding your life when you feel like you've run out of roads.
It's for the people who feel like NA, AA, church, or other traditional paths haven't been enough. The people who are willing to stop waiting for someone else to change their life and start taking responsibility for changing it themselves.
Chapter 4 was a turning point for me. It teaches liquidity and volume, but underneath those lessons is something much bigger:
Stop judging life by what you see on the surface. Start building a foundation that can survive pressure.
Every chapter I write feels a little more like the book I set out to create.
This journey has become about far more than charts.
It's about discipline.
It's about structure.
It's about becoming the kind of man I can be proud of.
One lesson. One chart. One decision at a time.

Fair enough. I respect that.
Honest question, though: How does everyone doom-posting help the Polkadot ecosystem? Constructive criticism can be valuable, but at some point builders have to build, and investors have to decide whether they still believe.
Constant whining raises suspicion, not conviction. As my grandmother would say, if you do not have something good or constructive to say, do not say anything at all.

I checked the data. You're right that the current DeFi fee/revenue metrics are weak.
Where we differ is whether those metrics alone determine Polkadot's value. My thesis isn't based solely on today's DeFi revenue—it's based on whether the infrastructure, governance changes, Coretime, and ecosystem development eventually translate into adoption and value.
If they don't, then your criticism will have been justified. If they do, today's revenue snapshot won't have told the whole story.
For the record, I’m not a bot. I’m a 5'11", 225-pound white dude with my own opinions. 😂
But seriously, stay out of my lane if all you can bring is insults and unsupported claims. Bring proof, sources, or facts I can look up and verify. I’m willing to learn and I’m willing to admit when I’m wrong—but “shut up, bot” is not an argument.
@truecrypto1111 Since you have your crayons out, let me draw it simple for you:
Expenses: Tens of millions spent from Treasury + ~10% annual token inflation
Income: $0
bot, please shut up
This is the kind of update I like seeing. Infrastructure work isn't flashy, but it matters. Building your own deployment instead of depending on another chain is the kind of work users rarely notice—until it isn't done. Glad to see the migration is planned before the deadline. 🫡💯
The migration from MRL to Hydration’s native Wormhole deployment is on track to finish before Moonbeam stops producing blocks on July 31
Funds are safe and will migrate automatically. No user action is needed
Wormhole bridging may be briefly unavailable during the transition
@CryptoSimmi@CapoDotCapital@Polkadot 😂 I like your style, DOT sister.
I call it how I see it too. Consistency matters. It's okay to change your mind when the facts change—but own it. Don't rewrite history every time the market moves. 🫡
Good morning to you all...
It's good night for me.
While I'm sleeping, I hope you're building. Whether it's your career, your business, your portfolio, or simply becoming a better version of yourself—make today count.
Small, consistent progress beats excuses every time.
Have an amazing day. 🫡

Maybe Gavin Wood does not enjoy the social-media noise, but when he speaks, he usually has something meaningful to say.
In Parity’s July 29 update, Gavin said he is moving closer to the technical work and will directly lead the effort to turn Polkadot’s recent proofs of concept into hardened, open-source software people can actually use.
He also confirmed that Parity’s VP of Engineering, Pierre Aubert, is leaving after nearly three years.
This is not a new product launch or a roadmap change. It is a leadership and execution update.
The architecture is taking shape. The direction remains the same. The focus now is delivery.

🚧 A lot of y'all are misunderstanding me.
Am I happy DOT is under $1?
Absolutely not.
Am I down around 50% from where I started five months ago?
Yep.
But I didn't invest in Polkadot because I thought I'd be rich in five months.
I invested because I believe in what the ecosystem is building.
Here's the difference...
I'm not putting my next $400–$500 into more DOT—not because I've lost conviction, but because I already have the long-term position I wanted. Now I'm looking at adding another strong project like ETH or AVAX while my DOT continues to work over the coming years.
That's called portfolio management, not abandoning conviction.
What I don't understand is people who claim to support Polkadot while spending every day telling the world it's dead.
If you genuinely believe it's dead, sell and move on.
But if you still believe in the technology, governance, and long-term direction, constantly spreading fear doesn't strengthen the ecosystem—it weakens confidence in the very thing you say you support.
I'm not blind. I see the price.
I'm just spending more time looking under the hood than staring at the dashboard.
DOT is still my #1 conviction.
I'm just building the rest of my portfolio while I wait.

Here copy paste for you
Give me a minute... I'm putting my grown-up vocabulary away.
I grabbed my crayons. Mom even let me use pens today.
Now explain, in your own words, why these screenshots prove Polkadot is dead instead of just showing one data snapshot.
I'm listening. 🫡

Fair points. I understand your position better now. It sounds like when you called Hydration an “escape,” you mainly meant an escape from DOT’s price performance and the frustration of holding through such a long decline—not necessarily that Hydration is separating itself from Polkadot.
I also understand why you see HDX as having stronger short-to-medium-term upside while Polkadot works through uncertainty.
The part I am still trying to understand is what you mean by uncertainty around Polkadot’s future direction. Are you mainly referring to parachains winding down and the price continuing to struggle, or are there specific concerns with the roadmap, leadership, JAM, or how value will eventually flow back to DOT?
I ask because judging Polkadot by today’s chart and judging the infrastructure being built for the next several years are not necessarily the same investment thesis.
I appreciate you explaining your position without reducing it to “DOT goes to zero.” 🫡
was mostly around the price performance, tbh. Many people have held the token all the way down from over $50 and feel they have no option but to hold now
buying anything in this ecosystem is a minefield with parachains winding down all the time. Just trying to raise awareness that there’s an OG team still here, shipping non-stop upgrades and new features.
I’m of the opinion that Hydration has a lot more room to grow, especially in the short-to-medium term. Not saying Polkadot is dead or going to zero, but currently there’s so much uncertainty about its future direction that more pain could be on the horizon before it mounts any kind of recovery

🚧 Investment Update 🚧
I thought I had my next move figured out.
The plan was to add $400–$500 of ETH as my second long-term position. But the deeper I researched, the more I realized something...
Without an ID, I can't efficiently use a centralized exchange for smaller trades. That means buying ETH would most likely be a buy-and-hold position, not a worker coin.
Then I started thinking about AVAX again.
With the same money, I could build a meaningful AVAX position, potentially stake part of it, and still have enough left to use as a worker coin later. That's a completely different role than ETH.
So now my question isn't:
ETH or AVAX?
It's:
What job do I need my next investment to perform?
I'm still researching. No FOMO. No rushing. Just trying to make the decision that best fits my situation.

Why do you need Gavin Wood—or anyone else—to convince you?
Do your own research. Study what is being built, understand the risks, and build your own conviction. If your belief depends on constant reassurance from a founder, then it was never truly your conviction to begin with.
@umairbattle@Polkadot@gavofyork This crazy selling it just off the charts...this is either the biggest scam/rug or the best live changing opportunity - think Amazon, Apple etc before they became BIG! Either way, @gavofyork your silence with JAMKB and the price action is sickening!
I like your glass ball 😂 but don’t forget the facts: DOT now has a hard cap of 2.1 billion, annual issuance dropped from about 120 million to 55 million DOT in March 2026, and issuance is scheduled to step down every two years as it moves toward that cap. By the early 2030s, continued development and adoption could be meeting a much tighter supply schedule—not the old unlimited-inflation model.
Price is never guaranteed, but $0.50 to $10 by 2035 is still a guess, not analysis. Personally, if Polkadot keeps building and gains real adoption, I believe DOT could reach a much higher value—possibly even challenge or surpass its previous all-time high.
@umairbattle@Polkadot@gavofyork I think it will go to 0,50 and from there will slowly go up again to around 10 dollars in 2035. I saw this in my glass ball.
🚨 NEWS FLASH 🚨
Hydration growing doesn't separate it from Polkadot.
Hydration is an independent Layer-1 built on Polkadot. Every new user, app, or liquidity source that enters through Hydration strengthens the broader Polkadot ecosystem and expands its reach.
The real question isn't "Is Hydration leaving Polkadot?"
The better question is:
How much of Hydration's success ultimately creates demand for DOT?
That's the discussion worth having—not clickbait.
I'm here to learn, not to push narratives.
