The "boon" is simply the natural result of concentrated human will.

But they eventually fail because they lack Vishnu (the balance/wisdom). Vishwadharam
The one who holds the entire universe.

Power without balance is self-destructing. The Gods are not being unfair by giving boons to demons; they are allowing the Law of Karma to play out.

This teaches us a powerful lesson: the universe rewards the strength of your focus.
