@sama Will there be a new open weights model based on the sam generation as Sol? Of course with less parameters and capabilities, but still a new open model? 20B? 120B? Multi-modal?
I will not post on X anymore. Bluesky is where I am more active now. https://t.co/Puw2R5RdW9
Not that Iโm very active on social media. I have a life outside of the attention wars.
1. Super human models (and perhaps even o1,) probably has a thought process that is too detailed and dense for (most?) humans to understand. Creating a summary of the thought process allows an important peek inside, to check if the model is still aligned with our goals.
Regarding bit depth it is strange that Apple only uses 8-bit hiec-files, when it would be technically possible for both 10-bit and 12-bit. With Apple focusing a lot on HDR I find it weird that their default image format is still 8-bit. Their HEVC video is 10-bit!
There is still some speculation in forums that iPhone 16 Pro will use JPEG XL to compress its ProRAW (DNG). Current ProRAW files are very large, so a better RAW compression would make a lot of sense.
Also the current version is only 10-bit. (Adobe Bridge says 11-bits...)
@GXCinema@SonyAlphaRumors A9 III also has 120fps RAW and pre-capture. Still it seems like OM1 is also a great camera.
How does the LiveND work? Is it an actual ND or just a digital correction?
@dotavocado Something can look cooler while also being a worse experience. The border looks cool, but detracts from the images (by making them smaller). If I look at images or videos I want them to be as large as possible.
The form of meditation I practice is purely non-religious and without any belief in meditation being something supernatural, magical, or spiritual.
To me it is opening my mind to becoming aware of my experienced reality in a different way.
Meditation exists in many forms. Not all are probably equally good. Paying attention to the breath or body is only one part of a good session.
When you manage to pay attention to awareness itself, thatโs when you get to a new level of meditation.
One consequence we could hope for is that less trust in digital communication would make people more physically social. At least I still trust the physical world.
@SlackHQ has been stripping metadata from images for years. Traditionally that has probably not been a problem, but with an increase of fake images, the need for verification, and the promise of C2PA, removing metadata is becoming more and more problematic.
A few years ago I thought the move to ARM would be the end of Mac gaming, but I feel like Iโve never been closer to considering never buying a PC for gaming again.
If Apple managed to make a tool to translate DLSS/FSR calls into MetalFX, that would be a game changer, literally and figuratively speaking. Apple SoC canโt run DLSS, but FSR seems to be worse than MetalFX. Here is hoping for Game-porting Toolkit 3.0.
@lakshyalark Also Apple regarding English vs. non-English. Talking to Siri is much worse in non-English. There is no suggestions for next word, and a lot worse grammar understanding for most non-English languages. Being too American one of the few things I really don't like about Apple.
