He believed that differences could be settled with civility and understanding. He demonstrated that at thousands of events across the country. From my jaded and cynical viewpoint, it seemed corny and naive - but admirable. An old and deeply American attitude. It took enormous courage to go out there in front of mob after mob of rabid leftists but he did it with spirit and a great attitude. His work was fruitful and a great many people had their eyes opened, culminating in the resurgence of the past couple of years. He was a very kind person. He represented the best of us. A remnant of an older better time. Too good for what this country has become, but a reminder of what we should strive for. Rest easy, Charlie. We will remember you fondly and carry on your fight to make America the country you wanted to leave to your beautiful young family.
Never thought I’d see the day where @trumpy03 and I are drinking non alcoholic Stellas at a sports bar on a football Sunday but here we are. Can’t tell if this is growth or rock bottom
