MLB needs to encourage more players to do this with kids (adults should not be doing this).

It's called "marketing to the youth" which is what the sport needs.

Imagine being a grown man who:

Drops a ball hit right at him.
Gets on all 4's to try and get the ball.
Takes the ball from a little girl's hand.
Celebrates like it was Ohtani's 1000th hr ball.
Posts an upside down pic of the ball on social media.
Sees the staff give the girl another ball bc of his actions.
Waits multiple innings for people with common sense to tell him to give it back.
Then comes on social media to defend himself because he gave it back after realizing he was the tool.

But hey...thanks for giving it back. It'd probably be in a case on your nightstand in your mom's basement if it wasn't for the world knowing what should've been done literally the second it happened.

Dear @Dodgers

Print the man his tickets.

If you can print them at the park, you can print all of his and send them to him.

This is a PR nightmare that could easily have been avoided by taking a loss of probably $30 to print and ship his tickets.

I'd like to think 50+ years of loyalty is worth $30. The question is, do you?

"Glitch"? what "glitch"? Gimme a break.

Seller went live with bids on a 2k+ card in a room with about 100 watchers.

A large portion of those watchers were there most likely doing just that. Watching.

Which leaves you with MAYBE 2 actual real bidders tops.

This time it looks like there was just 1 bidder. Therefore, that bidder wins.

THAT is what's "fair".

Flip the scenario, if the card sold for 25k would he refund the winning bidder 22k bc it was a 2k+ card?

No chance.

If you sit down at a blackjack table, have a 20, dealer gets 19, they will give you the money because you won.

They offered the game, you risked your money, you won, they pay. They don't say "its not fair that everyone else had 18 and lost so you don't get paid."

Flip that, if you have a 20 and dealer pulls a 6 card 21, you lose. They sure as hell aren't gonna let you keep your money.

Bottom line, don't get into something that has variables like these live auctions if you can't handle the occasional loss.

eBay needs to do the right thing here and make the seller honor the sale.
