So @Walgreens Is it true that you, as a corporation, condone your pharmacies refusing to fill prescriptions for #transgender hormone treatments? #LGBTQIA folks want to know because our #trans family is being told this at their local pharmacies
@NBCNews@CNN@CBS@nytimes
Do any other #asexuals have a weird disconnect between their brains and their physical responses? I often have moments where I'm like "wow. they're hot" or "wow, that's hot" but have NO physical response to those very things...it's all mental and terribly confusing. #asexuality
Throwing this out into the #asexual#lgbtq#Twitter...any #help would be appreciated as I am trying to keep my water on. The moratorium on utilities ended a while back and the bill is way overdue. Fifty bucks may as well be five hundred. No family that claims me.
@asexuality@FYeahAsexual You are the most reliable and science based #asexual advocates I follow Can you possibly do a poll or address how disproportionately #asexuals deal with substance abuse, sexual abuse, etc? If I see one more "it's easy being asexual" thing, I'm screaming
You REALLY want to know what being #asexual is like? Listen to the Johnny Cash cover of Hurt. Drugs, alcohol, self harm. any fucking thing to make you fucking feel something. Fuck all of you in the #LGBTQ community who #gatekeep and treat us like we don't belong.
Sorry #LGBTQ#gatekeepers no matter what flag @Nickelodeon dresses #Spongebob in, he has always has been #asexual. He is also cis and if anything bi or #panromantic. Since you don't claim us other cis when we have "straight" presenting relationships, you don't get him either.
@asexualACES I'm ace and have been all my 45 years
I'm ace and have no IRL sexual response
I'm ace and have touch aversion
I'm ace but I've been married
I'm ace but I've got a kid
I'm ace but have aesthetic attraction
I'm ace but have romantic attraction
@aroacepercyalex Not to mention the psychological and physical issues that many aces/aros end up dealing with in our own quests to "fix" ourselves. I've personally dealt with substance abuse, unsafe sexual experiences and abusive relationships trying to be "normal." I've been lucky, others arent
Random: Big plans for #ValentinesDay?
Me: Not really
Them: Aw, you don't have a Valentine this year?
Me: I'm #asexual. All my love is reserved for nachos & basking in the sweet knowledge that I won't wake up to a stranger asking me what happened the night before.
Them: Um, ok
interest in sex. That hasnt changed in decades. But my aesthetic attraction and even romantic attraction has always been very fluid even as I "told" myself I was hetero in those aspects. So new year, new me. As it should be. We grow and learn, even being old. #nevertoolate
So I'm old. Especially in comparison to a lot of the other #asexuals I encounter online. But you are NEVER too old to learn new things about yourself. I used to consider myself heteroromantic. But I am now considering myself a #panromantic#asexual. I still have no
Can we get an #asexual#aesthetic#attraction thread going?
As an asexual, I don't have any desire or need to get busy with anyone. But as a human, I do find a certain look or appearance to be appealing. This is one of mine. What are some of yours?
Is anyone else put off by the memes, Tik Toks, etc that basically show #asexuals romanticizing the letter "A"? Ie, "when an asexual gets an A on a test" and then there's love emojis or putting the test under a pillow or kissing the test? My sexuality is NOT your punchline!!!!!
@asexuality I consider myself the InconvenientAsexual because I'm a fat cis gender heteroromantic asexual woman taking up space in places that tend not to like or accept one or more of these. But I like taking up a lot of space. It's more room to share with others who feel they don't fit in.
If an asexual admits a crush or aesthetic attraction, don't assume that they are magically "fixed" either. There's nothing to fix. And finding something appealing does not equal sexual interest. Just accept us as we are. Including our Ben Solo altars. That may just be me though.
Going off @azejournal's excellent thread about #aestheticattraction...
This is why "unattainable" crushes often exist in asexuals. Be it book, movie, anime characters or even celebrities or athletes, it's quite common AND ok for asexuals to have these kinds of mental and
emotional connections because they are mentally and physically safe. We know that there's no way a real interaction could occur between us and these "crushes" so they are a viable way for us to express our emotions without worrying about the expectation of sex.
