A little context behind this “historic” approval rating: the survey was conducted by Spark Advocacy, whose polling division is led by Bruce Anderson, an active public supporter of Mark Carney. Anderson’s stepdaughter was Justin Trudeau’s communications director and is married to Spark’s president and co-owner.

Then Cult MTL, a reliable Liberal mouthpiece, turned Spark’s 70% approval of the government’s performance into a personal approval rating for Carney and declared him the most popular prime minister in Canadian history. That is propaganda, not responsible reporting.
