The entire state of Texas as photographed by NASA from space, 2018. This is a fascinating image to look at if you're at all familiar with Texas geography. Not only can you see all of the major cities but even towns like Temple-Killeen, Midland-Odessa ... even small towns like Monahans, Alpine, Marfa etc.. The Eagle Ford can also clearly be seen. But what blows me away is the lights in the area around Pecos. Those lights aren't quite as intense as they are in Midland-Odessa (immediately to the east of Pecos) but the area is at least as big, perhaps bigger. Amazing. Fortunately, with the exception of Presidio, the Big Bend remains dark. May it ever be so!

The Hi-D-Ho Drive-In in Lubbock during the 1950s. Buddy Holly and the Crickets played here. Located at 4th Street and what is now University Avenue, it was the place for young people to cruise during the 1950s and 1960s. Famous for the Hidy Burger with Hidy Sauce and Hidy fries.

Great news. King of the Hill is returning with the original voice actors, save LuAnne Platter, who was voiced by Brittany Murphy. Murphy passed away in 2009.

Tory Roberts sent in this shot of his Great Grandfather, John Alton Roberts, at his filling station in Meadow, TX. Per attached note: "No water, no electricity. Windcharger for radio and lights. Gas was 15 cents for regular, 18 cents for Ethyl. Lived in back part of the station."
