Patient: I think I broke my left back ribs
NP: I’m sure you’re right! (But radiologist reading says no rib fracture)
NP to group of NPs online: Can any of you find a broken left back rib on this xray (as she only includes right side in image)
But NPs are just as good as MDs🙄
This is rich. The AZ board of nursing has issued a position statement that NPs can supervise PAs, amongst other HCPs. Arizona, the wild west that allows NPs(including CRNAs) & PAs to practice unsupervised. I'm sure the Arizona State Association of PAs would take issue with this.
Who wants to tell this NP? (“Elite”, my ass!) Patients deserve to know what NPs DON’T know, which is the most basic textbook case of a medical problem. Nurse Practitioners don’t learn medicine! This poor patient needs his BCC excised, not more antibiotics. #trainingmatters
Wonder what the Arizona Board of Nursing & its NPs think of PAs? They think NPs should be able to SUPERVISE PAs. Ironically, Arizona Auditor General Report finds this same nursing board is dramatically failing to conduct investigations appropriately. @AAPAorg ?
@MidlevelWTF@pppforpatients@SouthJerseyMag Insecure twits. Either use “Dr” OR “DNP”. Using both is just a stupid flex. DNP is a joke of a nonclinical degree anyway. Go google DNP projects—my high schooler has done more academically rigorous work.
Tell me again how NPs are fully trained and qualified…
#NPsLead at watering down education. There should be no shortcuts. #trainingmatters. Someone tag the #AANP and see what they have to say.
And this is why I won’t see an NP. Who the hell knows whether it’s an NP with decent education and experience or an online diploma-mill NP??!! They get the same letters after their name, so who can tell?? #noNPforme#NPslead at watering down education
The expansion of for-profit, online NP schools harms nurses, just as the degradation of training standards harms patients. We are witnessing a corporate assault against all of American healthcare.
Informed consent means that a patient understands exactly who is treating them. Georgia’s new law is a huge step in the right direction.

Why am I anon?
Being anon does allow me to have opinions here with much less fear of retaliation.
I had one tweet recently questioning current NP training and practice. I got a few “you suck” DMs but also DMs from non-anon physicians with stories of attempted retaliation.
They agree with my concerns but aren’t going on record because in the past some wayward NP or PA complained to their employer about it or found another Tweet to also try to use against them.
Most people regardless are reasonable. But the maniacs are nuts. And they aren’t happy unless there is violence of some form. Only scalps.
So. Anon is still smart in 2023.
@CesarJBlanco Oh? Does the law require NPs to work in primary care? In rural areas? Under the Board of Medicine? Only within their actual training?? (Note: they are not dermatologists or cardiologists, ever). Nothing is stopping NPs right now from working anywhere in the state.
@CesarJBlanco@txp4p Okay, but how about if psychologists agree repeating a lie often enough makes it seem true? Is your problem with the person who was quoted, or is your real problem with the message?? https://t.co/mqwu4QFf9q
Meet your new "Pulmonologist". I hope you find her as attentive and caring as our financial team did. We trust she'll do a great job treating your asthma with Z-paks and your pneumonia with Albuterol and Medrol dose paks!
And you may not even know she’s not actually a physician.
Still thank the AAMP isn’t trying to replace physicians with NPs? Open your eyes, and check out this AANP position statement. Delusional about NP education adequacy, for starters.
