Time for our daily warning about Trump’s tariff lies. I cannot emphasise enough how important it is to create an awareness of the economic dangers of using tariffs as a central revenue source.

Trump’s entire economic agenda is built upon his lie that foreign countries pay any tariffs imposed on their exports. THIS IS A DANGEROUS LIE that every voter needs to understand.

Tariffs are a SALES TAX on American consumers. He’s proposing to take YOUR $$$ to fund tax cuts for the rich.

Tariffs drive inflation and increase the input costs of US based manufacturing too. They DO NOT bring manufacturing home as the economic data clearly shows. They can be effective for helping specific sectors being harmed by exporters who benefit from unfair state subsidies, but that’s the limit of their effective impact. Blanket tariffs are economic suicide.
