Journalist: "You're selling raw milk at the farm gate. Unpasteurised. That's a public health hazard."
Dairyman: "What's pasteurising for?"
Journalist: "Killing dangerous bacteria."
Dairyman: "From where?"
Journalist: "The milk."
Dairyman: "The muck, the bucket and the cow. It came in when town milk was from sick cows in sheds behind the pub, carted warm for a day and topped up at the pump. They couldn't clean the dairy, so they cooked the milk."
Journalist: "And you think you're above all that."
Dairyman: "I think I'm inspected. The herd's TB tested. A man comes twice a year and goes through the parlour with a torch. The milk goes to a lab 4 times a year. One bad result and I'm shut that afternoon."
Journalist: "People have been made ill by raw milk."
Dairyman: "By dirty milk, same as dirty anything. 2 summers ago near 300 people in this country went down with E. coli. It was lettuce, out of a sandwich. How's the campaign against salad going?"
Journalist: "Salad doesn't carry the same risk."
Dairyman: "Salad doesn't carry a label. Every bottle I sell has a warning on it by law. Find me that on an energy drink, a vape or a bag of rocket."
Journalist: "So you accept it's risky."
Dairyman: "I accept I'm the only thing in your fridge that's been made to say so. My customers drive 40 minutes past 3 supermarkets, read the warning and buy 6 litres. Best-informed shoppers in Britain."
Journalist: "The experts advise against it."
Dairyman: "The experts advised margarine. People round here have drunk this for a few thousand years. I'll give the experts time to settle down."
Still not at 50,000 by the end of this week.
Yesterday someone called this topic "niche".
Here is why they are wrong and what you need to know about folic acid.
News🇬🇧⚡️: "Justice is coming. I've lost my home, my career, my wife left me, private pension fund gone...I wouldn't swap my position with that of Matt Hancock for the tea in China and gold in Fort Knox".
A brave and embattled former Tory MP @ABridgen gives an emotional yet stoic speech as he recovers from a libel case 'Bridgen Vs Hancock' court ruling yesterday.
The aforementioned libel case against former Health Secretary Matt Hancock has been thrown out at the Court of Appeal yesterday.
Hancock, who was MP for West Suffolk from 2010 to 2024, was accused of making a malicious online comment about fellow former Tory MP Andrew Bridgen.
He appealed an earlier court decision that Bridgen's claim could go to trial, and on Wednesday at the Court of Appeal three judges ruled in his favour.
We pray that Andrew can get things back together again and Matt Hancock faces the justice he deserves through legal means.
Speaking after the decision, Hancock said he was "right to call out" what he "clearly saw were anti-vax and antisemitic conspiracy theories".
The Judge dismissed Mr Hancock’s application, concluding that the honest opinion defence raised “highly evaluative” issues requiring further evidence and argument at a trial.
She considered that evidence of how other commentators reacted to the Bridgen Tweet might be relevant; that Mr Bridgen was or might be entitled to rely on a letter from 26 Jewish Doctors (“the Doctors’ Letter”) stating that the Bridgen Tweet was not 3 antisemitic; that Mr Hancock’s purposes might be relevant; that there was an overlap between the evidence relevant to the question of whether an honest person could hold the opinion and whether Mr Hancock held it; and that Mr Bridgen had a realistic prospect of proving that Mr Hancock did not hold the opinion, on the basis that it was a highly unreasonable opinion and he had improper motives
@A1an_M@thecoastguy Addition of folic acid to flour benefits around 200 babies in the UK each year. Sounds excellent. However, it also endangers 3.5 million cancer sufferers, 2.3 million coronary heart disease sufferers and 4.2 million with low vitamin B12. Not a good trade-off. Who's getting paid?
Sick perverts! Preston Court heard that 13 month old baby Preston had show numerous signs of abuse but nothing was done about the couple in the process of adopting him.
After his death it was assessed he had bruises in his mouth and suffocated after being orally raped to death.
