"Saar we wuzz the original Nangu Pungu Saar. Modesty is an abrahamic concept saar" 🤡.Someone needs to enforce the idea of what is actually a dharmic idea, belief & what is not before modern Hinduism completely becomes a debauchery & hoe rehabilitation cult.
@2000_vina@rudesahogyahu2@thelonghol@mukherji_speaks Karnataka & TN also serve eggs daily to kids, they don't face any problem. How come WB govt can't do the same ? It's the duty of govt to feed the kids not some charity organization
I am really glad Tamilnadu had some real empathetic politicians and leaders, thinking far into the future, keeping the health of children from impoverished backgrounds in their minds.
"Expensive protein goals" it seems.
Especially when Data has been ringing alarm bells in so many States in India; malnutrition is leading to stunting and wasting.
The arrogance and lack of empathy is telling.
This is what happens when you learn nutritional science from Baba Ramdev and human physiology from the Adventures of Baal Narendra. Eggs remain one of the absolute best and cheapest sources of protein available. Evaluating a meal strictly by raw grams ignores the reality of complete amino acid profiles.
A whole egg scores around 1.13 on DIAAS with no limiting amino acid, delivering highly bioavailable protein alongside critical nutrients like choline and Vitamin B12, the latter sitting at a flat zero in any carbslop vegcel diet. Government procurement can source eggs at wholesale rates of around Rs 6 to 6.5 per piece today, still delivering high-DIAAS protein at roughly a gram of complete protein per rupee.
Daal has its place, but you have to consume a copious amount of it to equal the actual usable protein found in just two eggs. Plant protein naturally suffers from limited bioavailability, with cooked dal landing near 0.5 on DIAAS, capped by its sulfur amino acids. Combining lentils with rice only lifts the plate to roughly 0.78, leaving eggs as the significantly better and more realistic option for scaling baseline nutrition.
My problem is not AP providing quality food. It is welcome. My issue is with your demand that people who ask for eggs to be part of the meal, should do it themselves instead of asking the govt to do it. What is a good reason for the WB govt to NOT do it? Karnataka is doing exactly that.
Feeding nutritious food to the poor is one of the most basic acts of nation building. Why would you expect private parties to take that up?
Don't complain about bad roads. Start a construction company and build the road yourself.
Don't complain about law and order. Start a private security company and enforce law in your locality.
So what are Mo-Sha and BJP for? Their job is to win elections and break opposition parties if they fall short of numbers. Not to do meaningless things like providing nutritious food to poor kids.
Just because y'all have contributed taxes amounting to 60L crores, you think you have earned the right to ask why the govt is not running a proper midday meal scheme for the poor kids instead of outsourcing it? What do you think are? Citizens of a free country?
Women with premarital sexual experience should not hide their past. They should address their experiences directly instead of causing distress to others.
Meals in Korean schools are certified by a nutritionist who hits the right macronutrients for student development and they meet extreme hygiene standards. India is busy doing politics over this.
In the egg-in-midday-meal debate, the most insensitive comments I’ve seen so far:
“There is no malnutrition in 🇮🇳 .”
“They can eat egg at home.”
“Protein intake isn’t the government’s job.”
I served on a school committee where 10-11-year-olds chewed gutkha to suppress hunger.
Vitamin deficiency especially of b12.For a govt with strict budget, no other single food source could match an egg, since it gives you vitamin A,D,E,K &most importantly Vitamin B12. Fish is also a valid substitute but it will require more budget per kid
This bstard is chanting ''namah vishnu'' before eating mutton. Now i wonder how many vaishnavs esp those affiliated to iskcon, who praised removal of eggs as some 'chad' or dharmic move react to this. Politicians themselves don't care about religion whether it's cooking chicken
Although it's personal choice to ear egg or not. But for a kid whose family struggles to give them 2 times meal in a day, nothing can match an egg in mid day meal. People are obsessed with protein as if it's the only important thing, while ignoring serious problem of
