Watch Spain at 1-0 last night. That’s courage. That’s bravery. And then watch England at 1-0. What’s the difference?
We are a better team than Argentina, I’ve no doubt in my mind. But we deserved to get beat in the end. In fact, it could have been 4-1.
Bringing on 3 defenders at 1-0 up. What message does that send? I wrote it in my Daily Mail column after the Mexico game. Until we understand that courage and bravery is controlling possession under pressure and not booting / heading it up the field 40 yards then this will always be the end result.
There were class players leaving clubs on frees that we didn’t even take a look at but I’m meant to believe we’re going to use the money from malard to sign someone good, that’ll strengthen us?
Exclusive: Chelsea are close to signing Melvine Malard from Manchester United for a fee that would be a club-record sale for MUFC. The France forward will reunite with Sonia Bompastor, who is a big admirer. All parties seem happy with the deal. More here.

🚨⚠️ EXCL: Éderson to Manchester United, deal OFF and considered as collapsed as Man Utd informed Atalanta.
Atalanta believe Éderson is 100% fit and will welcome the midfielder back as part of their squad, as Man United changed their plans.
Éderson won’t join #MUFC.

Carrick Man United - 46% of attacks through middle and final 3rd! Mitten was wrong but we’ll discuss that more next season but simply put Carrick prefers to play through the middle.
Pep Man City - 34% of attacks through middle and final 3rd, City focused their attacks out wide. This is why Semenyo was signed Savinho wasn’t productive enough in an area critical to how City attack.
Santos strengths, top tier Percentile for Vertical Passes Attempted and Final 3rd pass success rate. In the opposition half most of his xT(expected threat) comes from the left half space. I can imagine him attempting to initiate final 3rd combination play centrally, key to how Carrick wants to play.
Can’t remember who I was talking to about this but if you see this comment below. I said Wilcox and Vivell need to sit down with Carrick and have a conversation about how he wants to play and make that priority when looking at midfielders.
Personal opinion on Carrick and Santos level aside, I can see how this signing makes sense tactically for Michael Carrick.
