We don’t try to win the last-hours race. We only list markets that are months from resolution, and in the final 7 days deposits are blocked and LTV decays to 0. Resolution dates refresh every 12h, and LTV also drops to 0 if liquidity dries up. So most loans are closed before a dispute can even start.

The real edge case is an event that resolves a market before that window. There the liquidation buffer and the protocol reserve absorb the shortfall before lenders do. If a dispute freezes the shares, the loan keeps accruing, and today we handle that manually. Automating it is still an open item.
