my X feed: porn, gambling, a crypto scam, porn, a tweet from someone i actually follow, porn.
got sick of it so i built Veil — think adblock. filters porn, gambling and spam out of your feed, all on your own device. nothing about you ever leaves it.
free while in beta: https://t.co/CZ4OzDilTA
one week since Veil went live on the chrome store.
the numbers: 15 installs. 14 stayed (respect to the one who left). 11 followers. a one-word reply somehow at 30 likes. and my own feed? 1000+ posts quieter.
small numbers. but they're real people with calmer feeds, and a week ago it was zero. onwards
@Dearme2_@DearS_o_n X could ban it tomorrow. they won’t — it drives too much engagement.
so i stopped waiting and built the ban myself. free extension, strips porn from your feed, runs on your device. the ban X won’t give you
Is it really a small portion? Minors particularly are exposed to it with barely any restrictions in place. In its own way it is a drug and the vast majority of its users consume it regularly. Men in relationships. My personal opinion is that no portion of porn users have a healthy relationship.

@SeS041187575212@vamp1bella One time in my life I would have thought that way, but the reality is that its super destructive on your brain, relationships and how you view men/women in general
a chip detected a touch off the tips of a man's hair and ended croatia's world cup. meanwhile X's algorithm can't detect a porn bot with 4 million posts
@MrCharlesky #1 is the only one on this list that isn't a habit — it's an environment problem. you can't out-discipline a feed that's algorithmically serving it to you. fix the feed first, the habit gets 10x easier. (built a free extension that does exactly that, it's on my profile)
Can we ban porn from Twitter it’s genuinely starting to pmo the way it’s bleeding into every section of the site 😭. Or at least make it an automatic blurr
@Mars2rano honestly the hardest part is twitter putting it right in front of you all day. I made a free extension that hides all of it from your feed. it's called veil, link's in my bio if you want to succeed this july 🤍
@shubhvanii Used to promise myself “never again” every night.
Broke it by morning. Every time.
It was never willpower. It was my feed.
So I removed it — I built Veil to hide it from our feeds. For free 🤍 (bio)
