Y'all need to use @tryvoiceink for voice dictation.
It's fast, 100% local, open source, compilable from the GitHub repo, and no subscription fee. Replaced Wisprflow with it and it's just as fast and accurate.
🔊 Sound on!
@Scobleizer Robert, no vested interest here other than sharing good things, but you need to also kick the tires on @tryvoiceink if you haven't tried it yet. The quality and UX on transcriptions quickly wowed, and has moved me away from all of the others I've used.
It is probably the most underrated AI voice‑typing and dictation tool available.
For a one‑time payment of $29, it’s one of my best technology investments—not just this year, but in recent years as well.
Other tools with the same purpose charge $20 or more per month.
I’ve always missed having this on my iPhone.
After spending five minutes on the iOS app, I found its free version clearly outperforms the free versions of all other iOS apps I’ve tried this year.
@JoshiPax is 💎
I stopped using WisprFlow because it randomly failed to transcribe and their support was unresponsive for a month.
I switched to VoiceInk (no affiliation). It's open-source; so I can tweak it myself. And it gives me full control over what models are used to transcribe.
Have been using VoiceInk for the last week or two and finding it very fast and satisfying to update @linear issues or chat to @claude_code
Highly recommend giving it a go. No subscription required either.
Thanks @JoshiPax 🙌
VoiceInk is one of the best purchases in recent times. its local Parakeet bundle is very impressive. every work item gets done way faster than before.
Might require few dictionary word inputs based on the work you do. expect at least 3x improvement in your flows after that. There must soon be a quick bulk add option like "add all aws service names or all tools that you use in your project workspace" 😅
@tryvoiceink
@paraschopra If someone is looking for alternative for mac. You can use @tryvoiceink.
It's open source and you can use local model also.
Even with a small 150mb model it's soo accurate and UX is also great.
@Scobleizer @Typeless_HQ I’ve been using a similar product @tryvoiceink . One time license cost, open source. Uses local hardware on m series MacBooks. No subscription. Still constantly supported. Haven’t looked back.
What nobody talks about yet is the rate at which software becomes more accessible now that everyone is building with AI.
AI = deflationary
ANY NEW IDEA WILL BE COPIED IN A BETTER AND CHEAPER WAY
I just switched from Superwhisper ($249.99 lifetime) to VoiceInk ($29 lifetime)
(within a year this stuff is FREE!)
@JoschuaBuilds installed VoiceInk today and it has an AI enhance feature. Not rly needed when talking to Cursor but for everything else comes in very clutch. Also its just 19$ one time and has everything you need (model runs locally)
