Resilience isn’t pretending things are fine or pushing through alone. It’s about caring for ourselves, connecting with others and taking helpful steps forward, even in difficult times #JumpBackUpJuly https://t.co/ltdCFGAiM6
I love a well structured argument...it is the philosopher in me!!! I am always willing to agree to disagree and willing to go away and think about it and see if I still agree with what I think.
I was buying ingredients for dinner when the cashier suddenly asked, “Everything okay?”
I looked around.
“Yeah?”
She nodded slowly.
“You usually buy a lot more snacks.”
I just stared at her.
She looked embarrassed.
“I notice people. Occupational hazard.”
Then she lowered her voice.
“You haven't bought ice cream in weeks. That's usually a good sign after a breakup.”
I started laughing so hard the people behind me looked concerned.
She'd accidentally tracked my emotional recovery through frozen desserts.
And the weirdest part?
She was completely right.
Being 43 is wild. People your age are living completely different lives.
Some are grandparents. Some are raising toddlers. Some are newly divorced. Some are newly engaged. Some haven’t slept in three years. Some are in St. Tropez posting Aperol spritzes from a yacht.
Some look 25.
Some look like they personally remember the invention of Tupperware.
Nobody got the same assignment.
