ICU in private hospitals costs 35k a day.
Unless your medical aid has unlimited cover you’re going to exhaust a million in 28 days.
We need to fix public healthcare! Yho!
I can boldly tell you that among all these African countries:
• Senegal
• Ivory Coast
• Tunisia
• Morocco
• Egypt
• South Africa
• Algeria
• DR Congo
• Ghana
Cape Verde are the first African nation I’ve seen play without fear. Their ball possession, quality and accurate passing are unbelievable.
Imagine drawing against Spain and Uruguay something many African nations wouldn’t do in their first World Cup appearance.
They fear nobody. They will beat Saudi Arabia and nothing will stop them.
If you believe in building strong and sustainable institutions, don’t underestimate the value of researchers who are obsessed with credible data and evidence.
Research is not Google searches, AI summaries, opinion pieces or repeating claims because they sound convincing. When leadership asks for research, it is a privilege and a responsibility that must be approached with patience, humility and seriousness.
Imagine making a major claim about the economy based on an opinion article that cites a report, only to discover that the report itself relies on another opinion article in the Business Day (@BDliveSA) rather than official data. That is how weak evidence gets recycled until it starts sounding like fact. It is also how organisations and leaders end up being misled.
I encourage all researchers to familiarise themselves with the work of Statistics South Africa (@StatsSA). Their officials are always professional, helpful and willing to assist those who genuinely want to understand the data. There is a reason we invite Stats SA to @EFFSouthAfrica Plenums every year.
Where do I even begin to explain how this is statistically bankrupt?
I consider the Free Market Foundation to be very liberal and centre-right.
I am surprised that they agree with the superior logic of the EFF on the Scraping of Registration Fees for Unemployed Graduates/Professionals.
Victory is near for all Young Professionals in South Africa!

No political party has been as intentional about protecting and fighting for the vulnerable black youth of this country like the EFF.
Too bad that most people vote based on social media trends and not policies
Young Professionals, Teachers, Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Accountants etc. have to pay membership fees to professional bodies like SACE, HPCSA, LPC, ECSA and SAICA, even when they are UNEMPLOYED.
The EFF is demanding parliamentary intervention to STOP this unjust practice!
Dear All,
As we prepare for schools to reopen, I wanted to share something that’s helped us at home.
Both my son and I live with ADHD. His presentation is predominantly hyperactive-impulsive, and I also manage ADHD alongside anxiety. So we are always paying attention to what helps regulation, sleep, focus and emotional steadiness.
One of the biggest shifts for us has been reducing sugar.
Sugar causes sharp glucose spikes and crashes. In a nervous system that already struggles with impulse control and emotional regulation, those spikes amplify restlessness, irritability and poor concentration. It’s like adding fuel to an already sensitive system.
So we started with removing sugary cereals, well breakfast cereals are sugery so we don’t do cereals. We avoid fruit juice in the morning, especially orange juice ( that thing is dangerous) and cutting fizzy drinks ( he is only allowed fizzy drinks over weekends or one a day during school holidays). We have moved more toward protein and fibre breakfasts instead. Nothing complicated. Just steadier fuel. The difference in his mornings and classroom focus has been noticeable.
We also aim to eat earlier in the evening. Our last meal is at 18:30 latest being 7pm. Better sleep has quietly become one of our strongest regulation tools.
This isn’t a miracle fix and it’s not a rulebook. Every child is different. But if you are open to small experiments, this may be worth exploring.
A blessed Sunday to us all. Remember, sugar is just as toxic and dangerous as alcohol and drugs.
